Donggi-Senoro on track

Jakarta (IOGNews) - The Donggi-Senoro liquefied natural gas plant currently under construction in the centre of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi is on track for first production by late 2014, a partner in the project has said.

Speaking at a media gathering in Tangerang, 25 kilometres west of Jakarta, Medco Energi director for asset development Eka Satria said construction work on the plant was ahead of schedule.

The Jakarta Post reported that while Satria estimated work was about 33% complete, ahead of the 26% targeted for this stage in the development, gas delivery was expected to remain on schedule.

Satria also said Medco would announce the winner of the tender process for the construction of gas production facilities at the Senoro Block, which will feed into the Donggi-Senoro plant, in March.

“Four consortiums have passed the final phase of the tender. They are IKPT and Petrofac, Adhi Karya and Hyundai, Tripatra and Samsung, and Rekaya Industri and Daewoo,” the Jakarta Post reported.

Medco holds 30% of the Senoro Block, with Pertamina holding 50% and Japan’s Mitsubishi 20%.

The plant would be majority owned by Mitsubishi with 44.9%, while Pertamina would hold 29%, Korea Gas Corporation 15% and Medco the remaining 11.1%.(Upstream)
