Floating Gas Terminal Operation in West Java Will Begin This Year: PGN

Jakarta (IOGnews) - The state gas company PGN has set a target to begin the operations of its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in West Java this year. “Meanwhile, we will begin construction work for the [FSRU] in Sumatra this year as well,” said Wahid Sutopo, PGN’s Investment and Risk Management Director, on Monday.

The infrastructure development project will use the company’s capital expenditures, set at Rp 1.8 trillion this year. In order to operate the FSRU in West Java and Belawan, North Sumatra, PGN has established a joint venture company - Nusantara Regas – together with state oil firm Pertamina. With the two projects underway, the company will at the least focus on domestic gas demands.(Tempo)
